Powerball and Mega Millions Jackpots Reach Over $850 Million Combined
Since mid-April, no lucky tickets have been sold for the Powerball and Mega Millions jackpots to be won. How high could the jackpots be if not won soon?
As the demand for tickets grows, so do the prizes. We can’t tell with certainty how high they’ll get, but one thing is for sure—the more rollovers happen, the higher the jackpots will get.
For now, the jackpots are not even close to the record ones. In November 2022, Edwin Castro from California won the biggest Powerball jackpot worth $2.04 billion. The top Mega Millions jackpot was $1.537 billion and its sole winner, from South Carolina, chose to remain anonymous.
The latest Powerball draw on Wednesday 28th June didn’t find its lucky jackpot winner. Instead, it brought the estimated jackpot to $493 million. Consequently, its cash value (also known as a one-time payout) also rose to $258.3 million.
On Tuesday 27th June, the Mega Millions draw didn’t bring the winning numbers for the big prize either. Therefore, the new estimated jackpot is now worth $368 million, with a cash option of $193.4 million.
Are you in?
Entering the lottery when the jackpots are so high is even more motivating. So what are you waiting for?
If your eyes are set on Powerball, you should know the draws happen three times a week: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays at 10:59 p.m. For a shot at the Powerball jackpot, you should match all five main numbers from 1 to 69 plus the Powerball number between 1 and 26. Sometimes, choosing numbers can get overwhelming. That’s why you can have a look at our Powerball Frequency Chart page so you can use statistics to your advantage. It might make the difference between a losing ticket and a winning one.
In case you prefer Mega Millions or you want to enter this one too, keep in mind that the draws are held only two days a week: on Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 p.m. The jackpot can be won as long as you match five main numbers from 1 to 70, as well as the Mega Ball number between 1 and 25. If you don’t feel inspired when choosing your numbers, give our Mega Millions Number Generator a try!
Whichever lottery you choose to enter (or maybe both?), don’t forget to check your tickets after each draw to see if you’ve won.
