$800 Million Mega Millions Jackpot Goes to Winning Player From Texas
It was a state record in Tuesday night's Mega Millions draw. A player from Texas won an incredible $800 million jackpot to become the state’s biggest-ever lottery winner!
The winning numbers for this draw came out as: 1, 2, 16, 24, 66 plus the Mega Ball of 6 and a multiplier of 4x. This lucky player managed to match all the numbers and is now taking home a life-changing amount of money.
One of the Highest Mega Millions Wins Ever
This is the first time since June 4th 2024 that the Mega Millions jackpot has been paid out. In that draw, $560,000,000 went to a player from Illinois.
The jackpot has now rolled over 27 times since then, leading to this huge jackpot amount to eventually be won after three months.

Shortly after Tuesday's draw it was announced that the $800 million jackpot-winning ticket was sold at Murphy USA 8848 in Sugar Land, Texas.
Texas is one of a few states where big winners are given the right to remain anonymous. Therefore, this player could go public or choose to not reveal their identity, just like the winner of the second-largest Mega Millions jackpot in Texas. This ticket was sold at San Angelo, and won $360 million on October 6th, 2023.
Either way, the winner has 180 days to come forward and claim their prize. They can take the $800 million as an annuity over 30 years or take a $404.2 million lump-sum.
A Winning Night Across the Country
More than 2.1 million prizes were paid out across the U.S last night, making it a memorable night for more than just the Texas Mega Millions winner.
Notably, four players managed to win the second-highest prize, matching five of the winning numbers to pick up $1,000,000 each. These winning tickets were sold in California, Florida, New York and Washington.
New York had the highest number of individual winners as 181,133 players all picked up prizes.
