The jackpot rolled to its current level after no ticket matched all six numbers drawn on Friday to take it home. Players’ next chance to win the amazing prize is in the Tuesday, July 12 drawing.

Although no one has hit the jackpot yet, there were plenty of other prize winners in the July 8 drawing. The winning numbers were the white balls 20, 36, 61, 62, 69, and the gold Mega Ball, 20.

A grand total of 955,284 tickets won prizes on Friday, ranging from $2 to $1 million. Check your tickets now and see if you’ve hit a payout.

The biggest winners were two tickets that hit the Mega Millions $1 million second prize by matching all five white balls. One ticket was sold in Arkansas and one in New York.

20 winners matched four white balls along with the Mega Ball to hit the $10,000 third prize. Five of those tickets are actually valued at $30,000 each because they added the Megaplier option, which was 3X on July 8. Megaplier costs an extra $1 and multiplies the value of non-jackpot prizes.

The jackpot has been rolling since a Tennessee ticket won it at $20 million on April 15. The winner has not come forward to claim yet. There have been nearly 13 million winning tickets in this jackpot run so far - that includes 23 worth at least $1 million. Those awesome seven-figure prizes were won in Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas and Virginia.

A total of four Mega Millions jackpots have been hit this year, and the current $440 million jackpot is the largest yet. Here are the top prize wins so far in 2022:

  • $426 million won in California on January 28; claimed by Kristine Wellenstein of Los Angeles County in June
  • $128 million won in New York on March 8; claimed by Herman Kahan of Brooklyn in June
  • $110 million won in Minnesota on April 12; claimed by an anonymous Minnesota couple in April.
  • $20 million won in Tennessee on April 15

The current jackpot also exceeds the $366.7 million Powerball grand prize won by a Vermont ticket on June 29.
