Although there were over 900,000 winners in total, only a single ticket was the luckiest of them all, bringing the jackpot to one (or more) participants. You can check out the draw breakdown to see if you matched any of the lucky numbers and whether you won any prizes. The winning numbers were 12, 24, 46, 57, 66, with the Mega Ball 22. The Megaplier was 3x.

At the moment, not too many details have been revealed about the lucky winner or winners. It has been confirmed that the winning ticket was sold in Texas, more exactly at Stripes No. 5031, located at 5665 Sherwood Way in San Angelo. The prize hasn’t been claimed yet, however Texas Lottery officials said that the participant chose the cash value option at the time of the purchase. The winner or winners have 180 days from the draw date to claim the jackpot. They have until April 3, 2024 to come forward.

Unlike other states, Texas allows winners who won prizes bigger than $1 million to remain anonymous should they choose to do so.

This is the 15th time when the Lone Star State has won a Mega Millions jackpot and it’s also the largest-ever prize won there. Gary Grief, Executive Director of the Texas Lottery, said:

“We are absolutely thrilled to have a big Mega Millions jackpot winner right here in Texas and we’re eagerly looking forward to meeting and congratulating the Lone Star State’s largest-ever Mega Millions jackpot winner.” He also gave some advice to the lucky winner who managed to match all six winning numbers: “If you have the winning ticket, we encourage you to sign the ticket, put it in a safe place, seek financial and legal advice, and call the Texas Lottery before coming to Austin to claim the prize.”

Jackpots Awaiting

Now that it’s been won, the Mega Millions jackpot has been reset at its base amount of $20 million, and a cash value option of $8.7 million. The grand prize is now awaiting its next winner, with the following draw happening on Tuesday, October 11.

On the other hand, the Powerball jackpot still hasn’t been won and it’s been rolling over since July this year. The prize has reached $1.55 billion, it has a cash lump sum of $679.8 million and, if won, it will be the third third-largest jackpot in the history of the game.

Whether you choose Mega Millions or Powerball, grab your tickets for the next draw and find out how lucky you are! Mega Millions draws are held on Tuesdays and Fridays while Powerball draws happen on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.
