Powerball Jackpot’s $1.7 Billion Prize-Pot Now 3rd Highest Ever
Wednesday’s Powerball drawings have been revealed and still there are no winners. The prize pot now stands at $1.7 billion, making it the third biggest lottery draw in U.S. Powerball history.
With a total estimated cash value of $770.03 million, winning the big prize in the next draw on Saturday September 6th might seem like a long shot—a 1 in 292.2 million chance to be exact! But we encourage lottery fans to get involved, as the odds of winning a smaller prize are larger.
There were 6.3 million tickets that won smaller prizes in last night’s Powerball drawing. Players can win by matching the red Powerball or a smaller quantity of the winning numbers.
Powerball Jackpot Winning Numbers: Wednesday September 3rd
The white ball numbers for Wednesday September 3rd were:
- White Balls: 3, 16, 29, 61, 69
- Red Powerball: 22
The white numbers were matched by 11 tickets for $1 million cash prizes, with winning tickets sold in California (2), Colorado, Florida, Georgia (2), Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Ohio and Pennsylvania. Four tickets which added the Power Play for an extra $1 doubled their winnings for a total of $2 million. These tickets were purchased in Oregon, Wyoming, Michigan, and Texas.
There were 117 ticket holders who won $50,000 prizes by matching four numbers and the Powerball, and 36 tickets won $100,000 by matching the same white and red numbers—the latter winners had doubled their winnings with the x2 Power Play.

When is the Next Powerball Draw?
The next Powerball draw is Saturday September 6th. It will be the 42nd draw since the last Powerball jackpot win in late May, making the current Powerball jackpot drawings with no winner a U.S. record. The last time this happened was in 2024 and stretched for as long as 41 drawings, with an Oregon-based winner eventually walking away with $1.326 billion. Lottery players are waiting with bated breath to see who it could be this time.
