Powerball’s NASCAR Promotion Offers Chance To Win $1 Million

As part of its new partnership with NASCAR, Powerball is giving players the chance to win $1 million. The ‘NASCAR Powerball Playoff’ promotion will see a total of 16 cash prizes given away over the course of 2023, with four of the lucky winners getting to enjoy a VIP trip to Phoenix.

Powerball became the ‘official lottery game of NASCAR’ earlier this year, as they have both ‘shared in the goal of providing exhilarating excitement for decades while also giving back to communities’.

The two partners have now announced details of a promotion that will see excitement levels build in the run-up to NASCAR’s own climax to the season - Championship Weekend - which takes place in Phoenix from November 3 to November 5.

“This promotion captures the thrill of racing and winning that could only come from a NASCAR-Powerball partnership,” said Drew Svitko, Powerball Product Group Chair and Pennsylvania Lottery Executive Director.

How It Works

Participating lotteries will start by selecting their own winners. Each state lottery can decide on the method they wish to use, whether it is through second-chance drawings or other contests, and offer their own prizes at state level.

This will create a national pool of players, from which organisers will pick 16 semi-finalists via a random draw.

As the NASCAR season continues, a series of head-to-draws will take place between the semi-finalists alongside particular races to whittle down the competitors one by one. For example, the first four will be eliminated when the Bass Pro Shops Night Race takes place at Bristol Motor Speedway on September 9, and each will receive $2,500.

The last four standing will receive VIP trips to Phoenix for NACAR Championship Weekend, including three nights’ hotel accommodation and a variety of experiences including hospitality club passes, pace car rides and much more. All four finalists are guaranteed at least $10,000, and one will receive $1 million.

Participating lotteries for the promotion include Arizona, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Iowa, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, and West Virginia.

Biggest Lotto America Win

A player from Iowa was able to celebrate becoming the biggest Lotto America winner of all time on Saturday night, picking up a jackpot worth more than $40 million.

The grand prize had not previously been won since July 2021, so it had eluded players from the 13 participating states for 21 months.

The winning ticket for Saturday’s draw was sold at Eichman’s Bar & Grill, 11941 U.S.3, in Dubuque County. Go to the Biggest Lotto America Jackpots page for more information.
